Red Lips

Nothing says "Holiday Glamour" like red lips and now is the perfect time to find - and wear - the perfect red lipstick.

Anyone can wear red lipstick; it's all about finding the right shade of red. If you know your color palette is warm you will want to look for a shade of red with a hint of terra cotta or rust. If you know your color palette is cool your best shade will be a berry shade. If you are unsure of your color palette, go for a true red.

Here's some tips on achieving a glamorous red mouth. First, use Sugar Lip Scrub on a daily basis to exfoliate your lips and keep them smooth and moist. (Yes, your lips need exfoliation just like your skin does.) Second, use Soothing LIp Balm every morning and every evening to impart extra hydration and keep your lipstick creamy and long-lasting. Always use a lip pencil before applying your lipstick. A lip pencil will add extra dimension to your mouth and keep your lipstick from bleeding and/or fading. Apply your chosen liptick with a lip brush using verticcal strokes. This allows the lip color to get into the fine lines and keeps the color on longer. And finally, if you like the idea of shiny lips rather than matte, use a clear lip gloss to give an extra boost of shimmer and shine.

Sugar Lip Scrub and Soothing Lip Balm are available from Image Matters. Each $22 or buy them as a Luscious Lips Duo for $39.

Image Matters can guide you into the perfect shades for lip pencils and lipsticks as well. For warmer palettes, choose Hot Tamale lip pencil ($17) and a lip color in Blaze, Chili or Hot Sauce ($19). For cooler palettes, opt for lip pencil in Candy Apple and a lip color in Red Carpet or Some Like It Hot.
